ScanDat AI ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier and authentication token. If you use Sign in with Apple with hidden email, we never see your real email address.
Images and text you scan: Photos and text you submit are sent to our server and forwarded to Google's Gemini API for event extraction. Images are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers. We do not retain your images or text after processing.
Calendar data: Events are added directly to your device's calendar (via Apple EventKit) or your Google Calendar (via Google's API). We do not access, read, or store your existing calendar data.
Subscription data: If you subscribe to ScanDat Pro, Apple handles all payment processing. We receive transaction identifiers, the plan you chose, and its expiration date to verify your subscription status, and Apple notifies our server when your subscription renews, expires, or is refunded. We do not have access to your payment details.
Usage data: For each scan, we record your account identifier, the time, the scan type (photo or text), the number of events found, and technical processing details such as the amount of AI processing used and its estimated cost. This record never includes the content of your images or text. We use it to enforce scan limits, prevent abuse, and understand how the service is used, and we keep it until you delete your account.
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
ScanDat AI's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We use the calendar.events scope solely to create calendar events that you have reviewed and approved. Google user data is never used to develop, improve, or train any generalized AI/ML model, and is never transferred to third parties for that purpose. Our AI processes only the images and text you choose to scan — it never receives or reads your Google Calendar or other Google account data.
Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device. Google Calendar OAuth tokens are stored in your device's secure Keychain. Your scan history in the app is stored only on your device. Our server stores only your account identifier, your subscription records, scan-limit counters, and the usage records described above, in Google Cloud in the United States. We do not keep a profile with your name, email address, or the content you scan.
You can delete your data at any time with Delete Account in the app's menu (the ⋯ button on the home screen). This permanently deletes your subscription records, usage records, and scan-limit counters from our server. You can also email support@scandat.app to request deletion. To revoke Google Calendar access, visit your Google Account permissions. To cancel a subscription, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device.
ScanDat AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
