Overview

ScanDat AI ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a user identifier and authentication token. If you use Sign in with Apple with hidden email, we never see your real email address.

Images and text you scan: Photos and text you submit are sent to our server and forwarded to Google's Gemini API for event extraction. Images are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers. We do not retain your images or text after processing.

Calendar data: Events are added directly to your device's calendar (via Apple EventKit) or your Google Calendar (via Google's API). We do not access, read, or store your existing calendar data.

Subscription data: If you subscribe to ScanDat Pro, Apple handles all payment processing. We receive a transaction identifier and expiration date to verify your subscription status. We do not have access to your payment details.

Usage data: We track scan counts per user for rate limiting purposes. This data is stored temporarily in server memory and is not persisted long-term.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, phone number, or physical address
We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising
We do not store your photos on our servers

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

Google Gemini API — processes your images and text to extract event details. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — for authentication only.
Google Calendar API — only accessed if you choose to add events to Google Calendar, using your explicit authorization.

Data Storage and Security

Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device. Google Calendar OAuth tokens are stored in your device's secure Keychain. Our server does not maintain a database of user information beyond temporary rate-limiting counters and subscription verification records.

Your Rights

You can stop using the app at any time. Since we don't store your images or maintain user profiles, there is no persistent data to delete. To revoke Google Calendar access, visit your Google Account permissions. To cancel a subscription, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device.

Children's Privacy

ScanDat AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
